…Over 450 original black and white photographs from the travelling circuses of the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey, Clyde Beatty, and the Polack Bro’s. They’re still in the original photo album, placed on black stock paper in red album cover. There is a little damage to a few of the fragile pages, but all the pictures are unharmed. It also includes pictures of the World’s Fattest Man, the Alligator Boy, Boxing Kangaroo, The Fountain of Youth, Helen of Troy, Cleopatra and Marc Antony, and several midgets (yay!). A couple newspaper headlines are included as well, underneath certain pictures. Tigers, lions, elephants, monkeys, bears riding bicycles, you name it. All sorts of trapeze artists, even a rare aerial photo of the circus. Appear to be taken professionally at the time (maybe by the circus’ photographer?), which was 1952 and 1953….
